Feng Shui For Getting A Job (Attract Your Dream Job with Feng Shui!)

Sharing is caring!

Are you looking for a new job?

Are you thinking about switching careers?

Are you getting ready for a job interview and need some good luck?

Feng shui for getting a job may seem like a stretch, but it’s not!

Feng shui is actually amazing for helping you any time you’d like to make a change in your life.

Here are some feng shui tips for getting a new job!

feng shui for getting a job

Two Easy Feng Shui Tips for Getting a Job:

When it comes to using feng shui for getting a job there are two things that will help above all others:

One: Set Your Intention.

If you don’t have intention behind your job search, it will be a lot harder for the Universe to send you what you want.

Intention and clarity are key!

If you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for, you can be more general with your intention such as:

I intend to attract a job in _ field by ___ date, making ___ per month.

Or if you need to go even more general and you don’t care what kind of job you get: I intend to attract a job that makes _ per hour.

Another way to focus your intention on getting a new job is to create a feng shui vision board.

You can create a career vision board that concentrates on how you want to feel, look, and be in your job.

This is especially helpful if you want to switch careers to an entirely different field.

Find all of the pictures you can that create the feeling you’re looking for in a new job.

What you’ll wear, what you’ll do every day, what supplies you’ll need to work — anything you can think of that will go towards helping you visualize what your future job will look like.

Then create a career vision board. Click here to learn how to create a feng shui vision board!

You can even take your vision/intention statement and put it on the back of your vision board.

Keep your board in you home’s career area, or in the career area of another room and let the Universe get to work on your behalf!

Two: Declutter.

Again, clarity is key.

Clutter is anything in your life that gets in between you and your dreams.

When it comes to feng shui, your home is your vision board.

And you’ll find as you go through your home and the bagua, that clutter tends to pile up in the areas that you usually struggle in outside of your home.

So if you’re ready to clear the way for the career of your dreams, go through your home and look for these things:

  • Clutter
  • Things you don’t use anymore
  • Things that relate to your old job or old life that you’re ready to move past (old pictures, old mementos of past jobs or relationships, old clothes)
  • Broken items
  • Home repairs that need to be done
  • Unfinished projects

Look for these things in each room in your home. The more you can clear out and make space for your new job, the better! Plus having these things in order will free up your energy so that when you do get the new job, you can concentrate on it and not everything that needs to be done in your home!

Now let’s go through each area of your home that relates to getting a new job.

Here are tips for each area!

Do NOT get overwhelmed.

Pick one thing at a time and give it a chance to work!

Trust me, you won’t have to do each of the things in order for feng shui to help you get a new job.

You’ll find that a lot of times you’ll get what you want WELL before you’ve even finished one thing on the list!

The Universe works fast when you’re ready and committed.

Feng Shui Bagua Areas that Relate to Your Career

In feng shui, your entire home relates to your life outside of your home. But there are also specific areas of your home that relate to your career:

  • Career
  • Fame/Reputation
  • Knowledge/Spirituality
  • Travel/Helpful People
  • Wealth
  • Front Door/Home Entrance

You can use feng shui in each of these areas of your home to help you attract a new job.

Again, pick one or two tips and try them!

You don’t have to do them all in order to attract a new job. Just a few will help!

Activate the Career Area by:

One: Add black and/or blue

Black and blue are water element colors and the colors that activate your home’s career area.

You can add them as accent colors, as decor items, or even just line drawers in this area with blue or black paper.

You can also place the colors under objects in this area – it doesn’t have to be visible in order to work!

Two: Add a water feature.

Again, water is the element that rules the career area.

You can add a small desktop fountain or a fish tank to this area to represent your new job flowing to you!

Make sure the water flows “into” the room.

You can also add a photo of water if you don’t want to add a water feature.

Make sure the photo or art shows relatively calm water (no choppy waters or high crashing waves – you don’t want a turbulent job!)

Three: Add a mirror.

Adding an accent mirror to your career area also represents water in feng shui.

Choose one that you love, and when you hang it or display it, make sure that your entire head can be seen when you walk past it.

Also, be mindful of what is reflected in it – mirrors double the energy of the thing they reflect.

Four: Create a Vision Board.

If you made a vision board for your job search, this area of your home (or the career area of an individual room) is the idea place to keep it.

If you don’t want to make a vision board, you can also just put pictures or a job statement in this area.

Brainstorm everything you’d love to have in your new job and see how many of them the Universe delivers!

Five: Clean, declutter, and/or move 27 things to activate your career area.

As I said above, decluttering helps make room in your life for the Universe to bring you what you want.

Cleaning and moving 27 things stirs up the Chi (life force energy) of this area and activates it to show the Universe you’re ready to receive what you want! Click here to learn about the moving 27 items feng shui cure.

Activate the Knowledge and Wisdom Area by:

Will your new job require you learning something different? Will you need a specific degree or speciality knowledge in order to get this job?

If so, the knowledge/spirituality area of your home is the place to enhance next!

Place items that relate to your new job in this area.

Placing items that relate to your new job will activate the knowledge area and help you attract what you want! Some ideas for items that can go in this area are:

  • Special licenses, certifications, or degrees.
  • Books that relate to your new job.
  • Pictures of people in your field that are your mentors or job crushes.
  • Specific items you would need to perform your job, such as: computers, special clothing, software, a judge’s gavel, a briefcase, cutting shears, tools, a certain vehicle, a police badge, a drafting table (you get the idea!)

If you already have one of these items, that’s great! You can put it in this area to activate it. Otherwise, you can print out a few pictures of the items and place them somewhere in this area!

Activate the Travel and Helpful People Area By:

The travel and helpful people area of your home relates to all of the different people you might need help from in order to get this new job. That would include:

  • Hiring managers
  • Your boss
  • Your current boss
  • Your future boss
  • References
  • Customers/clients
  • Coworkers
  • Anyone else you can think of that might help you get the job you’d like!

Create a feng shui helpful people box.

A feng shui helpful people box tells the Universe to send you the people you need to help you get the job you’d love. Click here to learn how to create a helpful people box!

Use a high-wattage light bulb.

Another way to activate your helpful people area is with a lamp or higher wattage light bulb.

Place a lamp in this area of your home or change out a light bulb in this area for a higher wattage bulb.

Then turn that light on for 3 hours a day in the middle of the day to activate it!

Do this for at least 9 days.

You might find that it works a little too well and people start coming out of the woodwork to help you!😉

If so, and you feel like it’s done its job then you can turn it off early.

Activate the Wealth Area by:

Your home’s money area is responsible for your whole family’s wealth and prosperity.

But it is also responsible for your money management and salary at your job.

If you’re looking for a new job or promotion, you can activate your new salary by using your home’s money area!

One: Add purple or green.

Purple is the color of wealth and opulence and is most associated with the money area.

The other good color for this area are green (wood energy) to symbolize growth.

Add these as accent colors, or you can add colored paper to drawers or under furniture.

Two: Place your ideal salary in a red envelope.

Red is an activating color in feng shui (representing fire energy!)

Write down your ideal salary on a slip of paper in red ink.

Place it in a small red envelope in your money area to attract the Universe’s attention!

Three: Create a money bowl.

A feng shui wealth bowl collects items that represent wealth and concentrates them in one area.

Create a feng shui wealth bowl for your home’s money area and place your red envelope with the ideal salary number under it for an extra wealth boost!

Click here to see how to create a feng shui money bowl.

Four: Activate your money corner.

One of my favorite ways to activate the money corner is with a candle.

Place a candle in this area and light it once a day for 9 days in a row.

You can light it just for a minute or two, or leave it lit for a few hours!

But when you light the candle, feel the feelings of the money you want from your new job coming in.

Set the intention that it’s yours!

(This is also activating for money coming in all forms, so don’t be surprised if you get a money boost in another area that’s not just related to your job!)

Feng Shui for Attracting A New Job: Fame and Reputation Area.

The fame and reputation area is responsible for the attention and reputation you receive in your life (not just your career.)

Your home’s fame and reputation area can help you bring attention to yourself!

This means attracting the right people to your resume, helping you stand out during your interview, and making a good impression!

How to attract a new job with your home’s feng shui fame and reputation area:

One: Add a candle or lamp.

This will shine the spotlight on you and help people take notice!

Turn the lamp on or light the candle for at least 3 hours a day for 9 days in a row.

You can even write your intention on a slip of paper in red ink and place it under the candle or lamp.

Two: Add red.

Red is the color most associated with the fame area.

And red represents fire energy in feng shui — which is intensity, passion, and fast-moving energy.

Add some red to this area to speed things up!

You can place it inside or under furniture or buy a red decor item if you want!

Three: Add a triangle.

Triangles also represent fire energy. If you don’t have red or don’t want to add red, adding a triangle-shaped item (or drawing one on a piece of paper) can boost this area!

Four: Add a symbol of your success in your new job.

Do you know what success in your new job would look like to you?

This area is a great place to put things that represent your goals and accomplishments.

If you know what you’d like in your job – like your job title, for example, you can write it on a piece of paper or find pictures that represent this accomplishment to you and place it in this area.

How to Feng Shui Your Front Door to Attract A Job

Your front door is how new energy enters your life and home.

It’s how the Universe brings you what you want — especially if are looking for new opportunities in your job!

You want to create a front door that is welcoming and attracts that new energy right into your home.

Here’s how to do it:

Clean your front door.

It might be an area of your home that you don’t think of much, but cleaning and sweeping your front door is an amazing way to welcome in new energy.

Sweep the whole area around your front door (inside and outside.)

Also wash down your front door with a bit of soap, salt, and a drop or two of orange or lemon essential oil (if you have it – if you don’t, just use the soap and salt!)

Make sure everything works.

Check the hinges, door knobs, and any other hardware and make sure it’s in good condition.

Touch up paint if needed.

Make sure the front door isn’t blocked.

Look for things overhanging the sidewalk, the door itself, or other things blocking the path to your front door.

Trim any plants or move them if needed.

Also, make sure the door opens freely and there isn’t anything blocking it when you walk into your home!

Do you have a front porch light?

If so, make sure the light is working properly.

Another way to activate this area is to turn your porch light on for three hours during the day for 9 days in a row.

This alerts the Universe to send you new energy and opportunities!

Other ways to activate your front door: wreaths, paint, a new door mat, and a wind chime can also enhance this area. Click here for all of the different ways you can feng shui your front door!

Bonus areas of your home to pay attention to when you want to use feng shui to attract a new job:

Closets.

Closets tend to hold the things that we place “out of sight and out of mind” and that we don’t like to deal with – but they can hold us back when it’s time to move on and attract new things.

Closets always count in feng shui and nothing is considered out of sight and out of mind.

It all affects our personal energy and the energy in our homes!

When you want to attract a new job, make sure that your clothes represent where you want to go and not where you’ve been!

If you need a totally different wardrobe for your new job, go through the clothes you used to wear and declutter them!

Also buying a symbolic outfit that you’ll need to wear in your new job can show the universe that you’re ready to commit!

Your desk and office (or home office.)

Your desk is related to your job and career, so keep it organized and ready for your new job!

Also, go through your office (or home office) and declutter and organize everything!

If your desk contains items you won’t need for your new job, declutter them!

Your lucky color.

Using your lucky color in your home and wearing your lucky color can help boost your personal Chi!

Wear a bit of your lucky color during your interviews or while you’re working on activities like job applications to create magnetism!

The command position.

The command position is a way to arrange your furniture in feng shui.

It symbolically represents how you present yourself to the world and how you see yourself.

It’s especially important in these areas: your desk chair, your main sitting area, your stove, and your bed.

Ideally, you should be able to sit at these areas and see the door from where you sit.

The door shouldn’t be behind you.

If the door is behind you, it means anyone can sneak up behind you and you won’t see them coming.

You don’t need to move the whole room around – placing a small mirror in front of you so that you can see the door works!

This is one of those things that relates to the power roles in your job and in attracting a job and can make a huge difference — especially if you’ve been at your job search for a while and haven’t attracted one yet!

Moving your desk into the command position can really help!
