What To Do When Feng Shui Doesn’t Work

Sharing is caring!

If you’ve been trying out feng shui ideas in your home and they don’t seem to be working, it can be super frustrating.

If you’re anything like me, you started trying feng shui in your home to get results (and probably wanted something specific!)

If that’s you, too, you aren’t alone.

After all, trying feng shui can start as a leap of faith and hope that it will work, so not getting results can make you want to give up.

Here are some ideas to try when the feng shui doesn’t work and you want to give up!

Check For Energy Blocks

Double-check all of the bagua areas related to your goal. Is anything amiss?

Don’t forget to check the health area because it touches all of the other baguas.

The basis of feng shui is energy flow.

The goal is for energy (Chi) to flow well throughout your entire home.

When you are trying to attract something specific and it doesn’t seem to be happening, the first thing to look for is an energy block.

Things that can block energy are:

  • Clutter
  • Dirt/Grime
  • Broken items
  • Burned out light bulbs
  • Objects with negative energy attached (such as gifts you don’t like, things you don’t use, clothing that doesn’t fit)
  • A room that never gets used
  • Things blocking a door from opening freely

Take a look at the area of your home that relates to the thing you’re trying to attract.

Check that area for any of those things mentioned above.

Also, try to look at the area with fresh eyes – do you see anything that correlates with what’s being blocked?

If you’re trying to save money, for example, does your money area contain a bathroom?

Do you feel like your money is always “going down the drain” or “wasted?”

Think about the things you often complain about and see if there’s a correlation to the area you’ve been working on.

Refresh Your Feng Shui Cures

Did you use any specific feng shui items or cures to help you attract something into your life?

For example, did you create a feng shui wealth bowl to attract more money?

If so, spend a little time refreshing it.

Sometimes feng shui cures can be “set it and forget it” but again, feng shui is about energy flow.

Interacting with your feng shui cure (like giving your wealth bowl a good cleaning and rearranging all of the items) can help the energy move.

It’s also helpful to reset and reaffirm your intentions for what you’re trying to attract.

While you’re refreshing your cure, really think about what it would be like to have what you want.

Spend a few moments feeling the joy and enthusiasm you’ll feel once it happens.

Don’t Forget The Front Door

Any time you want to attract something new into your life, it’s helpful to feng shui your front door

Your front door is how good fortune, fresh energy, and new opportunities enter your life!

Check to make sure that:

  • It’s clean and working properly
  • There’s nothing obstructing it (like large branches hanging down – can you enter freely?)
  • It opens freely and at least 90 degrees (there’s nothing behind it obstructing it.)

Just spending a little time sprucing up your front door can shake things up and make them happen!  Especially if you are doing it with the intention and knowing that the Universe will respond.

Move 27 Things.

In the spirit of getting stuck energy to flow, you can also try the feng shui 27 things cure

This is a super simple way to get the energy flowing.

All you have to do is move 27 objects in your home.

You can even just pick the object up and put it back down a little to the left or right of where it was!

For extra oomph, try getting rid of 27 things!

(The thing here is that you have to actually take the objects out of your home, not put them in a bag and let them sit by the door for 2 months!😉 )

9 Red Candles Cure

You can also try the feng shui 9 red candles cure to reset your intentions.

For this cure, you need 9 red candles.

You can also write your intention on a piece of paper with red ink, if you want, but it’s not necessary.

Place the 9 red candles either: in the bagua area that relates to your desire, in the fame and reputation area, or near the front door.

Then every day for 9 days, light the candles for a few moments.

Thank the Universe for sending you what you want!

Spend a few seconds feeling those feelings of gratitude and excitement. Then blow out the candles.

You don’t have to leave them lit for longer than your intentions.

Fire element energy is a catalyst for change, which is exactly what you want when you’re attracting your dreams!

Unhook Your Energy.

If you’re spending a lot of time looking for results, you’re noticing the absence of what you want.

Unhook your energy from your desire.

Try to remain as active as possible in your life instead of waiting for something to happen or feeling like everything’s out of your control.

It can also be helpful to work on more than one area of your life at one time, just so you’re not holding on too tightly to just one desire.

One last tip:  Brainstorm all of the ways this could work out.

Try thinking (or writing!) about every possible way this could work out.

And especially brainstorm creative ways that you might not think of otherwise!

Exercise your brain for the “unimaginable!” and expect miracles!

The Universe isn’t limited in how it can send you what you want – but you can block it by expecting it to only come one way.

Be open to the Universe surprising you!
