The feng shui salt water cure is one of the oldest feng shui traditional cures known in the practice.

If you’ve never heard of it, or never tried it, you’re in for a treat!

It’s one of the easiest ways to remove negative energy from your home – and it can be used continuously for positive effects.  Here’s how it works.

How the salt water cure works to remove negative energy:

Salt is a purification mineral that absorbs negative energy and protects you and your home from lower vibrations. 

This is part of the reason Himalayan salt lamps are so popular – they raise the frequencies in your home and help everything feel more positive. 

But you don’t need a lamp in order to achieve this:  you can sprinkle salt in the corners of your rooms, across the threshold of your home, and even place bowls of salt out in your home for 24-48 hours to absorb the bad vibrations and purify the energy of your home. 

But what if you want something that will help raise the good energy in your home for a longer period of time? 

That’s where the feng shui salt water cure comes in! 

How does the salt water cure work?

Basically, you put all of the ingredients together and as the water evaporates, the salt forms a giant crystal that absorbs the negative energy in your home. 

You can use it in any area that you’ve experienced negative energy – whether it’s things going wrong, arguments happening in your home, illness, or even if the space feels funky and negative for some unknown reason. 

Trust your gut!  You can’t do the cure “wrong” and it will only have positive effects.

How to make the feng shui salt water cure:

You’ll need:

• A bowl, glass, or jar (something non-porous is best – glass, porcelain, or metal – also choose something you don’t mind throwing out once you’re finished with the cure)
• Salt (sea salt works best, but any salt will do!)
• Water
• 6 Brass feng shui coins
• A piece of red ribbon
• A mat, towel, or piece of fabric to place under the cure.

The feng shui coins cause a chemical reaction, which is how your salt crystal grows!

They also have traditional feng shui prosperity energy, so they help boost the positive energy of the cure.

How to put the feng shui salt water cure together:

1. Fill your container 3/4 full of salt.
2. Place the 6 feng shui coins, yang side up (the side with the 4 chinese symbols)
3. Tie the red ribbon around the container.
4. Fill your container about 3/4 full of water.
5. Place your salt water cure on top of the mat or fabric you chose, in a place where it won’t be disturbed, but where it’s open to the air (not in a cabinet.)

Where should you put the feng shui salt water cure?

One of the best ways to decide where to place your salt water cure is to use the feng shui bagua map.

The bagua map is the feng shui map of your home that shows you which areas of your home correlate with different areas of your life.

Once you know the different areas of your home, you can decide where you want to place your salt water cure. 

Have you (or anyone in your family) struggled with health or wellness? You should place the cure in the health area of your home. 

Are you focusing on your career or job? You can place the cure in the career area of your home. 

Would you like to increase your income or money? Place the cure in your home’s money area. 

The possibilities are endless – and you can change the location every month if you want! 

Tip: You might be tempted to place a feng shui salt water cure in every room of your home — and you don’t have to do that! 

Instead, if you want to raise the overall energy of your home – place it somewhere in the center of your home, or place it somewhere in a room you spend a lot of time in.

Another note: your salt water container doesn’t have to be visible in order to work!

You can place it behind something so that you can’t see it in the room. 

However, you do want to be able to access it easily, so that you can keep the water filled as it evaporates. 

How to use the salt water cure:

First, set your intentions as you’re putting the feng shui salt water cure together. 

If you chose an area of the bagua to place the cure, then decide how you want the cure to work for you.

Do you want more money? Think of a specific amount as you put the cure together.

If you are applying for a specific job, think of that job while you put the cure together. 

Set your intention that everything negative surrounding what you want is taken away, and only positive energy takes its place.

Two, keep the water topped up as it evaporates. 

This does two things – it keeps the cure charged with positive energy.

But also, it keeps your intention in the forefront of your mind while you’re checking in with the cure. 

Each time you fill it with water, feel the feelings of already having what you want. 

If you just set the general intention of more positive energy in your home, feel the feelings of having a happy home!

Three, as you see the salt crystals grow, imagine the good energy around your intentions growing!

It’s kind of cool to see the energy grow, so imagine all of those good vibrations growing towards everything you want.

Four, once you’ve manifested what you want, you can move or remove the cure. 

It’s best to throw the whole thing out if possible, because it’s done a lot of work and absorbed a lot of negative energy. 

If you just set the general intention of good energy, you can move the container whenever you’d like – leave it out for a month or a year if you’d like!

Or you can change it out to a new salt container whenever something comes up in your life that you’d like to charge with positive energy.

Sometimes the cure will grow huge and need to be replaced faster than others – it just depends on what’s going on in your environment. If it seems like it needs to be replaced, don’t hesitate to do it! 

Another good time to replace the cure at the beginning of the year – you can do it on the traditional new year or the Chinese New Year!

Or you can recreate the feng shui salt water cure every month at the new moon or full moon to reset your intentions and energy!  You can’t do it wrong, so use your intuition!
