What is Blocking My Manifestation? How to Remove Manifestation Blocks!

When your manifestation isn’t coming it can seem like you’re doing everything right but NOTHING IS HAPPENING!

You might start saying things to yourself like:

What is blocking my manifestation?

Why is this not happening for me?

What am I doing wrong?!

I’m doing the affirmations, the manifestation journaling, the scripting — do I have unconscious beliefs blocking me?


We’ve all been there! When it seems like the manifestation isn’t coming it can make us tear our hair out.

Or it can just make you feel super defeated like you will never get what you want so why even try?

Or you can spend so much of your time trying to uncover what’s blocking you that you never get anywhere at all.

Instead of giving up, let’s go through all of the things that might be blocking your manifestations from happening so you can clear them!

What Blocks Manifestation?

Not really wanting it.

Did you really want what you said you wanted? Or did you actually want something else?

If you aren’t honest with yourself about what you truly want, it can block your manifestation from coming.

Let’s say you are trying to manifest a new job.

You are focused on applying for jobs in the field where you currently work, but what you REALLY want is to switch careers to a new field.

It’s going to be a lot harder to manifest a new job when you don’t really want the jobs you’re applying for.

Instead, either focus on what you REALLY WANT, or find a way to feel better about what you’re currently trying to manifest.

Maybe you just need to get out of your current company and a stop-gap job in the same field would help!

Find a way to get excited about it, or just give in and manifest what you really want!

Not believing you can have it.

Do you believe you can have what you want?

If you don’t believe you can have it, it’s going to be harder to manifest it.

The Universe can’t override your free will by bringing you something you don’t believe (even a little) that you can have.

And even if it did, you wouldn’t be able to hold on to it long-term.

This is why so many people win the lottery and then end up broke a year or two later – they didn’t believe they could have (and keep) the money!

Or they believe money always runs out.

If you have a contradictory belief – I want this, but I don’t believe I can have it – your manifestation can’t come through.

Do you believe something bad will happen if you get what you want?

Let’s use the example of money again – if you won the lottery, do you believe everyone will ask you for money?

Do you not want to pay taxes on it?

Do you believe rich people are bad?

You can want more money but if you believe that something bad is going to happen when you get it, you’ll stop yourself from manifesting it.

List out all of the bad things you think could happen and disprove them to yourself!

Not focusing on having it.

Are you focused on having what you want or on NOT having what you want?

This is something that blocked my manifestations for a long time.

I truly believed I was focused on having and wanting my desire, but truly I was focused on NOT having it.

A LOT of the time, when you’re asking “what is blocking my manifestation” you really are focused on NOT having it.

You’re looking for signs that it’s coming, which can mean you’re focusing on not having it.

You’re thinking about all of the things that are blocking you instead of focusing on what you really want.

It’s a subtle difference, but if you feel bad that your manifestation isn’t happening, or you’re beating yourself up that you haven’t manifested yet, chances are really good that your focus is what’s blocking your manifestation.


Have you given the Universe time to rearrange itself and bring you want you want?

One of the basics of law of attraction/the law of assumption is that you have to be a vibrational match to your manifestation.

If you can fully embody having what you want, the Universe has to bring it to you.

That is the law!

So if what you want is actually pretty far away from where you are currently, you have to find ways to embody what you want.

Let’s say you are trying to manifest your specific person (SP.)

If you already HAD your SP, would you be checking their instagram all day to see what they’re doing? NO!

You would already know what they’re doing because they would be talking to you!

So you have to find a way to fully embody the feelings of your SP being your partner.

If you are focused on your SP being with someone else, you aren’t embodying HAVING the relationship (you’re embodying NOT having the relationship.)

So step into the person who already has what you want and give the Universe a chance to catch up.

It can happen faster than you think, but you have to persist in the meantime.

In the book, Psycho-Cybernetics, Maxwell Maltz says:

A human being always acts and feels and performs in accordance with what he imagines to be true about himself and his environment…For imagination sets the goal ‘picture’ which our automatic mechanism works on. We act, or fail to act, not because of ‘will,’ as is so commonly believed, but because of imagination.

What you imagine to be true about yourself is your self-concept.

It’s how you see yourself in relation to everything that has happened to you and what you believe can happen in the future.

If you don’t see yourself as the person who can have what you want, it’s going to be hard for you to manifest it.

For example, if you want to win the lottery, but you don’t see yourself as a person who is lucky or who can win the lottery, your self-concept will block you from winning the lottery (and keeping the money if you do win it!)

Self-concept can be a layered thing, where you believe you can have certain things in one area of your life (relationships, for example) but maybe you see yourself differently in another area (like money.)

So you might have no trouble manifesting a romantic partner, but you’re always struggling with money.

Again, it always comes down to what you believe you can have. BUT, it also comes down to how you see yourself.

Changing how you see yourself can change your beliefs about what you can have.

It’s actually one of the easier ways to unblock your manifestations because if you can act as-if and work on your self-concept, it will be easier to believe you can have the things you want.

How to Determine What’s Blocking Your Manifestations

One of the easiest ways to find out what’s blocking your manifestations is to journal on the following questions:

  • Why do you believe you can’t have what you want?
  • What bad thing do you think is going to happen if you receive what you want?
  • Is there a repeating pattern that comes up in your life around the area where you want to manifest? Do you find yourself saying things like “this always happens to me!” or “I’m cursed” around a certain subject? If so, that can point to what’s blocking you in your self-concept.
  • Can you remember anything happening to you in your childhood related to your manifestation? Did your family struggle in the same area you’re currently struggling in? Did you have a traumatic experience?

If you can’t think of anything specific or you don’t really know what’s blocking you, it’s possible that:

Concentrating on what’s blocking you is really what’s blocking your manifestation.

If you’re always saying “something is blocking my manifestation” THAT could be what’s blocking you. Concentrate on something else for a while to see if it clears the block.

You could be saying things to yourself throughout the day that you don’t really think of as blocking you.

Set a timer on your phone to go off every few hours and deliberately stop yourself when it starts.

Write down what you were concentrating on or saying to yourself when the alarm went off – is it related to your manifestation or self-concept?

Were you speaking badly to yourself?

Were you reinforcing old habits or your old self-image?

How to Remove Manifestation Blocks

Depending on what’s blocking you, to remove the manifestation block you can:

Disprove your limiting beliefs and fears.

Are they ultimately true? (Hint, they are never ultimately true.)

Disprove each one in your journal.

For example: is it true that you never get what you want? No!

Write down all of the different times you’ve gotten exactly what you wanted (no matter how small.)

Work on your self-concept.

You can listen to affirmations, meditate, or just work on becoming the person who has what you want.

List all of the characteristics of the person who has what you want.

Are there certain things that you could do RIGHT NOW that help you become that person?

For example, if you want to be someone who works out first thing in the morning, start a new morning routine that helps you become that person.

Focus on getting what you want.

If your block is that you aren’t concentrating on having your manifestation, set an alarm several times throughout the day to remind yourself to focus on what you want.

When the alarm goes off, repeat a set of affirmations to yourself, or spend a few moments feeling the feelings of having what you want.

Affirm to yourself that what you want is really happening!

This will help align your vibration and help you focus.

You can also choose a manifestation method and work on it every day to get yourself into the habit of deliberate manifestation.

Ask the Universe for a sign.

If you’ve been waiting a while for your manifestation, you can ask the Universe for a sign that it’s coming!

Sometimes just knowing that your manifestation is coming can help you change your beliefs so it manifests more quickly.

Listen to empowering podcasts and youtube videos about manifestation and overcoming manifestation blocks.

This can help you work on your belief muscle. The more you believe it’s possible to have what you want, the easier it will be to move through manifestation blocks!
